COLLEGE of ENGINEERING
Application Process
The application process is currently closed.
Applications for the 2026-27 NDSEED Team will reopen in Spring 2026.

What is the team looking for in this year’s applicants?
This year we are looking to fill 12 positions total for both the Traveling Member positions and for the Non-Traveling Assistant position. The team will consist of 8 Traveling Members and 4 Non-Traveling Assistants. Experience in the fields of engineering, business, or human development, combined with a desire to participate in construction, structural design, and grant writing is preferred. Additionally, any level of Spanish proficiency would be beneficial, but is not required.

Do I have to be an engineer?
No! We are now looking for upper-level business and human-development focused majors to play a key role in next year’s team.

When are applications due for the 2026-2027 NDSEED team?
More information will be provided in Spring 2026.

What will I do as a traveling NDSEED team member?
Traveling members will also lead the fundraising, trip planning, and design process as well as travel during the summer for bridge construction.
If I am studying abroad during the 2026-2027 academic year can I still be a part of NDSEED?
Students traveling abroad wishing to be a part of the NDSEED team may apply for a Non-Traveling Assistant position.

Where will the team be traveling?
Since NDSEED's last four projects have been in Bolivia, it is likely that next year's project will also be somewhere in Bolivia.

When and for how long will the team be traveling?
Traveling team members will spend 6-8 weeks in the summer of 2027 constructing the bridge.
What is a Non-Traveling Assistant?
Non-Traveling Assistants shadow a Traveling Member. If performance is strong, they will be encouraged to reapply the following year for a travel position with a very strong resume. The selected applicants will meet at minimum once weekly and are expected to dedicate 2-4 hours per week outside of the meeting. Work load is lighter in the fall semester and heavier in the spring semester.

There will be no Letter of Recommendation required this year
